Detailed Program

Day1: Nyaung Shwe – Pindaya (-/L/-)

Today, pick up at your hotel and we bicycle to a small town of Pindaya. Pindaya, which is a small Da Nu, one of the hill tribes' town, is small and full of interests. We cycle via Khaung Daing - Nyaung Shwe road and then head to Taung Lay Lone (4 hills junction) where we start the climbs up to the airport town of Heho.

The climb is about 12 % steep and on the way, we pass by the life-cycle bridge. We will have a panoramic view of the Heho plain and also a glance of the lake view.

Upon arrival at Heho town, right opposite the market, there is the junction and we turn right to hit the road less busier. We ride on and on passing by beautiful fields and shady Bayan trees until we arrive another junction of Pindaya and Baw Sine Ore Mines.

Turning left, we pass by many Pa O villages on the way until we arrive at the town of Pindaya.

Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we ride up to the cave entrance and explore the cave. Then, we ride downhill to one of Paper Umbrella factory where we can see the most beautiful hand-made umbrellas.

41miles (66km) paved roads _a steep climb + rolling hills

Overnight at Pindaya

Day 2: Pindaya – Ywa Ngan (B/L/-)

Scenic ride today, we wills start from our hotel after our breakfast. As the saying goes "Early bird catches the worm", we want to start early so that we can have the opportunity of photos, breaks on the way as the views on both side of the roads are really awesome.

If you come during the high season, from October till February, you will have the chance to get to see the plantations of Seasame fields, mustard oil, ginger and many seasonal crops all the way on the Shan plateau. About an hour or so ride will bring you to the Junction village of Kyone. There, we turn right to our destination of Ywa Ngan.

We keep on riding on the rolling hills passing by some Eucliptus trees, "Blue-water pond" one of the Myanmar pilgrim tour sites, Main Ma Ye hills and so on.

Picnic lunch is at Myaing village where you can try local coffee.

Then, we ride on to Ywa Ngan.

46 miles (73 km) rolling hills paved roads

Overnight at Ywa Ngan

Day 3: Ywa Ngan – Padah Lin Cave - Kume (B/L/-)

Note: Today involves very steep climbs on the uneven rough-surface road, therefore, it is necessary to shoulder your bikes here and there for about 5 to 10 kilometers until you reach the caves of Padah Lin hidden in the middle of nowhere!

After early breakfast at hotel, with water enough for full-day adventure, we will bike from the hotel into the villages heading due west to the mountains. We cycle around 6 kilometers until we reach the last village called Hmyar Kalay, the Little Arrow and then from there, we turn right to the paved but neglected jungle trails. The trails are for the 4-wheel trucks but with the torrential rains, the earth road turns to deep muddy surface and it is difficult sometimes to ride on it even on the downhill slopes. Crossing the mountains is the most beautiful and adventurous off-the-beaten-track and less beaten track.

The distance from Ywa Ngan to Padah Lin caves actually is about 45 kilometers, however, very difficult climbs and rocky slopes make our pace too slow. And normally, we reach the summit of the mountain in about 2 hours time where we can have bird's eye's view of the Kin Tar Water Storage Dam. From the summit, we hit the downhill cycling challenge and somewhere on the way is a rest house where we can have a break. From there, we follow the dirt trail till we find the cave's sign in the jungle. Explore the Cave 2 where we will see a small pagoda in the middle of the cave on which the spotlight coming from the rooftop hole.

Then, we ride for about 5 mintues to Cave 1 where we can observe the paintings on the wall from the stone age.

Then, we will contine our ride to the dam and get a boat to transfer to Kan Sel village where we have our picnic lunch. Afterwards, we proceed another 30 kilometers on a bike to Kume town.

47 miles (75 km)_rough surface downhills!

Note: from Kume, you can take either night bus to Yangon or you can take bus transfer to Mandalay on your own arrangement!!

End of Program

Note: The group size is limited up to maximum number of 6 pax so that we can give the full attention to all travellers in a way of close intimacy. We guarantee the departure when the minimum of 2 cyclists are confirmed. For solo travellers, we are happy to welcome them as always and they can have their own room as long as the single supplement is paid. Nevertheless, a shared room with another same-sex solo cyclist can be arranged at no extra cost. As for 2 days, the bike rental fees are included in the fare. However, if you bring your own bike we will deduct the bicycle fees accordingly from the total cost.
